Thin-Film Solar Cell Device Design and Optimization
Objectives
- Device design and simulation of thin-film solar cells, specializing in 2D Transition Metal Dichalcogenide (TMDC) and Perovskite materials.
- Designing tandem solar cell structures.
- Analyzing and fine-tuning device parameters, including absorber layer thickness, temperature, and defect density.
- Investigating the impact of series and shunt resistance, electron affinity, on photovoltaic cell structures.
- Analysis of organic and inorganic Electron Transport Materials (ETMs) and Hole Transport Materials (HTMs) for better charge extraction.
- Interface defect analysis.
- Optimizing solar cell structures for improved power conversion efficiency (PCE), open-circuit voltage (Voc), short-circuit current (Jsc), and fill factor (FF).
- Leveraging ML models for performance prediction.
